Climate & Temperatures
The French Riviera enjoys a Mediterranean-type climate, characterised by exceptional sunshine of nearly 300 days a year and mild temperatures throughout most of the year.
Infrequent but heavy rains fall mainly in March/April and October/November.
In winter, freezing temperatures are rare, but sweaters or light jackets are advised.
The French Riviera’s unique topography is a study in contrasts.
In winter for example, it is possible to tan on a sheltered beach and ski down alpine slopes in a single day.
